About HomeNest Remodeling.
A Capital Region design-build company founded in 2019 on a simple idea: the owner should be on every project. Meet Jeff and the team he's built.
The HomeNest Story
Jeff built HomeNest around a promise most contractors abandon.
When Jeff founded HomeNest Remodeling in 2019, he made a promise to himself that he'd stay on the job — not just for the first week, not just for the ceremonial tour, but through the entire build.
Jeff started HomeNest because he'd seen too many Capital Region remodeling projects run by contractors who disappeared after the deposit check cleared. Homeowners would sign a contract, meet a project manager once, and then never see the owner again. Calls went unanswered. Problems got pushed to subcontractors. Schedules slipped quietly. That model wasn't how Jeff wanted to run a business.
Three things that didn't exist in most remodeling operations
When HomeNest opened in 2019, Jeff built the company around owner presence on every job, an in-house crew on payroll, and a written workmanship warranty that actually meant something. Those three things are rare in this industry — and they're the things HomeNest clients most often mention when they refer a neighbor.
Jeff is on every project. Not just the kickoff meeting. Not just the first day. He walks every site during the build, checks tile layouts with the installer, reviews electrical rough-ins before drywall goes up, and does the final walkthrough personally. When a HomeNest client calls, Jeff picks up.
An in-house crew, day 1 through day 40
HomeNest's crew is on payroll, not subcontracted. That means carpenters, tile setters, and finish folks who show up every morning together, build familiarity with each project, and take personal pride in the work. When you see the same faces for the full build, quality accumulates in ways a subcontracted crew can't replicate. The in-house model is more expensive to run — and it's why a HomeNest kitchen that's supposed to wrap in ten weeks actually does.
A five-year warranty, written into every contract
Most contractors offer a 12-month fix-it period. Jeff offers five years — in writing, in every contract. If a drawer front loosens, if grout cracks, if a trim seam opens up within five years of handover, HomeNest is back on site to fix it. That warranty is only possible because Jeff trusts the work his crew does.
130+ Capital Region projects and counting
Since 2019, HomeNest has completed more than 130 projects across the Capital Region — from Center Square brownstones in Albany to Clifton Park family homes and Saratoga Springs estates. Jeff has walked every single one. HomeNest is Fully Insured and Locally Owned and Operated. We're not a franchise, not a marketing brand layered over a loose network of contractors. The team you meet at the consultation is the team that builds your project.
Jeff's approach to remodeling is unfashionable in an industry that prizes aggressive modernization: he believes period-appropriate work ages better than trendy work. For a Victorian brownstone in Center Square, that means preserving original plaster and trim profiles while updating mechanicals. For a mid-century Colonie ranch, it means opening up compartmentalized layouts that no longer fit how families actually live. The common thread: design decisions serve the home, not a magazine spread.
If you're considering a kitchen, bathroom, basement, or whole-home remodel in the Capital Region, Jeff personally follows up on every free consultation request within one business day. That's not a lead-funnel promise — that's Jeff.
